Viyas Sundaram - a tech executive - and v:shal kanwar - a south asian fusion artist - got involved in the fight against domestic violence in very different ways. Sundaram, a transplant to Washington, DC, had raised money for Partnership Against Domestic Violence in his native Atlanta. v:k's decision came in memory of his mother, who had worked for a large YWCA women's shelters in Richmond, VA for the last few years of her life.
